Leading Beyond Boundaries: |

Leading Beyond Boundaries was born at the 2024 World Economic Forum to convene forward thinking researchers, business leaders and policy makers to tackle future-oriented questions around AI, justice, healthcare and other topics of societal importance.

In 2025, Leading Beyond Boundaries will once again bring together visionaries to explore humanity's technological future in Davos.

The goal of these discussions is to highlight key questions for academics, practitioners, and regulators. In addition to hosting invite-only roundtables, Leading Beyond Boundaries is also organizing a series of public panels and a Science Soiree to provide more opportunities for deep discussions.

January 21: Shaping the Future of Justice and Legal Practice

The contemporary legal system is struggling to meet the needs of society. Most people cannot afford legal representation, leading to a widening access to justice gap, while legal costs pose significant challenges for businesses of all sizes. Historically slow to adopt new technologies, the legal profession now stands at the threshold of transformation with the emergence of large language models and AI.

We are on the cusp of a fundamental shift in legal practice that requires collaboration between legal professionals and technologists. This event brings together global leaders from the legal industry and pioneering technologists to explore the future of the legal profession. We will address open problems, discuss innovative solutions, and chart strategies for the responsible deployment of AI in law.

January 21: Science Soiree

Calling all scientists, engineers and researchers! Join us at the St. Johann's Church to mingle, network, and sample local delicacies.

January 22: AI and Personalized Health

Healthcare stands at the cusp of transformation, driven by advancements in artificial intelligence and personalized health technology. Shifting from a reactive to a proactive model, we can leverage predictive analytics, wearable devices, and seamless data-sharing to enable early intervention and tailored care.

The COVID-19 pandemic revealed the urgent need for preemptive healthcare strategies, highlighting gaps in global coordination and response. Empowering individuals through participatory models, fostering private-sector collaboration, and adopting privacy-preserving technologies can unlock innovation while safeguarding personal data.

This roundtable and panel brings together experts to explore how AI-driven solutions can redefine healthcare delivery, paving the way for better outcomes for individuals and societies.

January 23: Privacy and the Rise of Agentic AI

As artificial intelligence progresses into the era of agentic systems—autonomous agents capable of near-human cognition—the stakes for security and privacy have never been higher. These systems leverage advanced AI techniques, including large language models, machine learning, and reinforcement learning, to operate with minimal human supervision, driving profound transformations across industries. However, the dynamic nature of agentic AI introduces complex challenges for privacy, trust, and individual rights.

This roundtable and panel brings together leaders from academia, industry, and government to explore the intersection of agentic AI and privacy. Discussions will focus on advancing privacy-enhancing technologies (PETs), harmonizing global regulations, and breaking data silos in sectors like healthcare and finance. By addressing key challenges and fostering collaboration, we aim to chart a path for ethical AI development that balances innovation with the protection of individual rights.

About the Venue

Leading Beyond Boundaries is partnering with Wisdom House to make this event possible.

All events are taking place at the historic St. Johann Church which dates to the 13th century when it was built by Walser settlers as the spiritual and communal center of the valley. The Church features a 71.2-meter tower from 1481 and Antonio Augusto Giacometti's incredible "Paradise"-themed stained glass windows.
